Hack Like Nh Facebook M I Nh T

After her Facebook account was hacked, Angela McNamara of Hamilton, Ontario, struggled to get help from the social network. Using its automated process to recover her account failed to work for her, says McNamara. Jalani Morgan for NPR hide caption

"And then from there I'm just like, 'OK, it is gone,' " said McNamara, who lives outside Toronto. She tried Facebook's automated process to recover her account: getting a backup code, resetting her password. But nothing worked.

This has been happening to a lot of people lately, and the experience has left many users nearly as frustrated with the social network as they are with the hackers. In July, NPR received 19 emails from listeners complaining that their Facebook accounts had been hacked or disabled. People share similar tales of woe on Reddit forums and Twitter every day.

Instead, Facebook tells users to report hacked accounts through its website. The site instructs them to upload a copy of a driver's license or passport to prove their identities. But the people NPR spoke with said they had trouble with every step of this automated process and wish Facebook would offer a way to reach a real person.

"The very first concern, after realizing that I was getting hacked, is that these folks might be able to gain access to my business's bank account," said Ben Coleman in Fall River, Mass. "That would be a disaster."

"We think of it as a kind of like a plaything or something for fun, but people share news on it, people get their news from it, it's a photo album," he said. "I think what I've kind of learned from my experience is, I really need to think about how I'm using it ... and what it means to me to lose it."

Typically, viruses spread from dog to dog through contact or, as with humans, by airborne viruses. One of the issues with the new illness is that some dogs, like Brio, are getting it without any dog-dog interaction or other likely culprits.

Keep your dog home if he or she shows any signs of illness such as a cough, nasal discharge, diarrhea, lethargy and the like. In other words, err on the side of safety for both your dog and other dogs he/she may be in contact with.

Computer crime laws encompass a variety of actions that destroy or interfere with normal operation of a computer system. Computer trespass, unauthorized access (or access exceeding permission that was granted to a user), or hacking is breaking into computer systems, frequently with intentions to alter, disable or modify existing settings. When malicious in nature, these break-ins may cause damage or disruption to computer systems or networks. Additional state and federal laws may apply to various other types of computer crimes (e.g., unfair and deceptive practices acts, etc.).

In addition to laws that expressly mention ransomware or computer extortion, additional states, like North Carolina (NCGA 143B-1379), require reporting of cyber incidents generally (which may include ransomware attacks) or state IT departments may require agencies to report cyber incidents to a CISO or other official. Also, other types of laws (e.g., that prohibit extortion and computer crimes such as malware or computer trespass) could also potentially be used to prosecute ransomware crimes.

My lung cancer was discovered, like most, by accident, while being scanned for something totally unrelated. The diagnosis of Stage IV non-small-cell lung cancer was a shock, to say the least, as I am a non-smoker, swimmer, bicyclist, healthy eater an

My three kids and I know what it feels like to struggle to breathe. We all have asthma. We don't like to take air for granted. My uncle was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. We have a new reason to raise awareness.

I believe I was 12 or 13, when I was first referred to a specialist and diagnosed with asthma. I didn't give it much thought back then, it didn't affect me. I'm 31 now and I feel like my life has flipped in the wrong direction in regard to my health.

I lost my grandfather to lung cancer a couple of months after I became a respiratory therapist. I know his lung cancer was most likely caused from many years of smoking cigarettes. In my 25 years as a respiratory therapist, I have cared for many pati

Keisha and I were the best of friends since both of us were 5 years old. Growing up, we spent every day together in some form or fashion. Whether we were face to face or talking on the phone, we were more like sisters than friends. Keisha was the sup

I was diagnosed with non small cell lung cancer in April of 2005. At the time I was forty five years old, a happily married mother of three and a never smoker. The never smoking part is important only because I feel it delayed my diagnosis. Unlike so

How Lung Cancer Impacted My LifeI did not expect my father to die from lung cancer by age 60. Growing up both my parents were heavy smokers. Every morning and night I would hear them hacking and coughing gasping for air. Still, their persistent smo

In January, 2011, I acquired an unnatural cough. It sounded like a bull moose making his bellow through a pinched balloon. It got my attention so I went to the doctor four times in four months. My doctor was placid and told me again and again it was

My name is Mara and I live in Colorado. I retired from being a high school educator in 2010 and moved immediately to where a former youth group boyfriend of mine lived. I thought it was like an Oprah Reunion story. I had my fairy tale world by the ta

My step mom, Rita, came into my life when I was 8 years old. From the start, she loved my brother and I like we were her own. I would look forward to going to her house on my dad's weekends because she would always have something fun for us to do.

In 2008 I had a cold that wouldn't go away. That's not like me; I'm never really sick. I had a doctor appointment for the following Monday, just a check-up, when I got there and told him about my cold he listened to my lungs and immediately sent me f

We all become involved with organizations like the American Lung Association for a variety of reasons. Everyone has a story to tell. I would like to take a few minutes and share my story with you as to why I got involved.

I will never forget the moment I learned my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer. It was July 15, 2015. At that time I was living in Florida for work and was seriously contemplating a permanent relocation. It was a day like any other day. My mom and I

This cancer journey began in December 2015. I had pain in my back like I broke a rib. I called my doctor and she did an x-ray and there it was -- a 4.6 cm mass. I was devastated. I have young children and want to be here for them, so I said I will st

@rdmThe Military/Security/Industrial Complex (MSI) profits from sales regardless it harms civilians or not. They would simply invoke stuff like Nationalistic feelings, wildly summoned imaginations of civil disorder and all kinds of proposals to sell their wares. There are cases where certain MSI companies and their contractors managed to scare the Government agencies and help dictate new national laws and regulations and make new guidelines and standards that are simply broken.

Then, indeed, James Clapper made the offer to sign an agreement like they did for Bad Aibling that their activities would not be directed against german interests. But he said that he does not have the political power to decide this, since it depends on the white house.

Well the exchange was between Christoph Heusgen from the german chancellory and Obamas aide Karen Donfried. And it was clapper who proposed something like a no spy agreement, but he said that he is not in powers and that this must be decided from washington. And it was Washington (Karen Donfried) who refused. This indicates that its not the NSA who is out of control, but these american politicians who give NSA explicit orders to spy on europe and the economy.

Ever hear of FBI or DEA doing rectal feeding of suspects held without trial? At the least, the case would be likely be dismissed and the defendant might get a nice settlement. At worst, America would flip out and resignations would result. Military and spooks coming after you is always worse than cops doing it. Better to keep them out of the domestic situation.

But what about inductors, few modern design enginers realise that they also act as both speakers and microphones. Older engineers realised that RF oscillators would act like radio mics where free wound coils fractionaly changed their inductance and thus the oscillators frequency due to mechanical vibration. There solution back then was to pour wax on them to damp out the vibration. But very few engineers realise a couple of other things. Firstly that inductors with cores cause the cores to vibrate due to magnetoconstriction thus they act as speakers. Secondly the cores in many inductors change their permiability under the influance of a magnetic field and thus effect the current flowing in the coil. This can cause a changing magnetic field to change the inductance which will therefore modulate the current, and if the current is oscillating it can cause the waveform to be distorted and thus change the harmonic content. Finally consider that the inductor can be considered either the input or output winding of a transformer, this opens up all sorts of posabilities for a creative attacker.

Needless to say, almost. And this article has some very poignant ways of putting it. It is absolutely anti-constitutional to be surveilling everyone. When there are legitimate terrorist threats, they will speak, communication is necessary for political and religious movements like that. You can not go more against the law then breaking these sorts of laws in the US. The Founding is all about being wary of governmental corruption.

When the populace sees the government breaking such core laws like these, they are encouraged to commit crimes their own selves. This and the torture and rendition systems must go. The financial crisis and the iraq war were bad enough. Combine all of that with a president who rode in on a platform of positive change and did nothing? You end up in a very bad situation. 2ff7e9595c
