Eric made another important discovery on return to the site, when chasing ducks led him into a thick, green sludge that he had difficulty getting out of. I was having visions of Shaun and I sinking into quicksand trying to rescue him, but he managed to struggle out. Great! Our first opportunity to use the external shower on the van. It took a good 15 minutes to wash all the sludge out of his super-absorbent curls, but the shower works a treat and means no mud anywhere near the inside of the van. Yay!
